Angern an der March

Only since 2001 a small ferry connects the two villages Záhorská Ves (SK) and Angern an der March (A) on both sides of the river Morava. Along more than 50 kilometers, this basic boat is the only possibility to cross the border.

Since december 2007 the check-points on the two edges are useless. On the slovakian side, it has been transformed into a flower-shop on the groundfloor and into a small museum on the first floor. On the austrian side the building stayed empty until this summer 2009. A group of local artists decided to contact the city major to ask for an authorisation for using the building as an atelier and showroom. They will occupy the place until the end of August. The project is called "Pilotprojekt / offenes Atelier - otvorený Atelier". The projection of the film of "Border Speaking" on friday is part of the finissage of the event.
